Symposium "(Small) children, Big cares"
Plea for an Integrated Approach to Child and Youth Care
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, De Grote Post in Ostend is the place to be for caregivers and supporters with a warm heart for children and young people. During the symposium "(Young) Children, Big Care," we will spend a day discussing integrated care for young people. What can be improved? And how do we join forces?
Caring Together for Vulnerable Young People
No child is an island, especially when they are ill. They need care and support from many quarters to grow and thrive. An integrated approach, with attention to physical, mental, and social health: in the hospital, at home, with the family doctor, at school, and during leisure time.
Caregivers and supporters share the responsibility for vulnerable young people every day. How can we come closer together to coordinate that care? Can the dialogue be improved? What are we doing to give children and young people the support and protection they deserve? How do we help them develop to their full potential? And do children's rights receive enough attention in care?
Welcome to Ostend
In the Ostend sea air, we will search together for answers to what sick young people really need. We will focus on children and young people with simple and complex conditions, young patients with acute serious illnesses, and vulnerable children.
Ride a wave of fresh ideas from experts, dive into testimonies from parents, caregivers, and patients, and return home with salt in your hair and a head full of inspiration, practical tips, and new contacts.
Who Are We Bringing Together?
Caregivers from hospitals and primary care, psychologists, psychiatrists, school principals and teachers, CLB staff, home care workers, patient association representatives, and other interested parties.
