Cycling across Europe for better care
Our colleague Dimitri Van der Linden, a specialist in paediatric infectious diseases, is cycling across Europe with a strong mission: to raise awareness about the responsible use of antibiotics and to support the establishment of a laboratory in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
From Thessalonique to Stockholm — where he is expected to arrive in June.
Along the way, he is giving talks in each country to farmers, veterinarians, and general practitioners, raising awareness about responsible antibiotic use through a One Health approach, as well as highlighting the alarming situation in low-resource settings.
Through this journey, he is also raising funds to establish a high-performance microbiology laboratory in Mbujimayi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
