BELUX Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (BELSPEED)
Objectives
The non-profit organisation was founded in 1989 and brings together the children's docrinologists from the 8 university centers and a few other hospitals in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Since 1989, child docrinologists have met monthly to optimize patient care, critically evaluate diagnoses and treatments, provide peer reviews on scientific articles, maintain a scientific attitude and develop protocols and multicentre studies.
BELSPEED has various missions:
Scientists and academics
- Obtaining a special training recognition of pediatrician endocrinologist-diabetologist
- Multi or multicentric studies
- Original publications
- Development of databases
Clinics:
- Peer review body
- Discussion of treatment indications
- Harmonisation and optimisation of patient management
- Discussion forum and exchange of views
International:
- Participation in pediatric endocrinology conferences
- International collaborations
